Belgian Bearded d'Anvers (pet-quality, mixed pen)
Belgian d’Anvers are adorable little fluffy faced bantams that are full of sweet sass and have active and friendly personalities. They make great 4-H birds for young kids because they are small and gentle in nature. While black and white can be considered boring to some, these colors are highly coveted in the show circles. My black line has won Reserve of Breed twice in 2023, and Best of Variety or Reserve of Variety at every show in 2023 and 2024.
The chicks that will come from this pen will be pure bred d’Anvers in black, mottled, white, or self-blue. They will not be guaranteed show quality, since the pen is mixed and there are chances for messy blacks due to the mottling gene. It’s not guaranteed that they will be messy, but it is more likely when the mottling gene is mixed in with blacks. My mottled line is split to lavender and white, so depending on the pairing you will get one of the four varieties.
I may be setting up some breeding pens later this spring for black and white individually, but if I do it will likely be a limited amount of time and eggs. If this is of interest, please contact me and let me know and I will see what I might be able to accommodate.
Prices are per chick and are straight run.
We keep back all chicks that will be a part of our breeding program. On occasion we will have pullets and cockerels that don’t fit our plans for sale, local pick-ups only. Contact us if you are interested in being on a wait list for grow outs when they are available.
