Olandsk Dwarf Chicks (Special Order--ONLY)

These birds are a rare landrace breed native to the island of Oland. They are a small, docile, independent breed that was recently on the Livestock Conservancy list as a threatened breed for extinction due to the limited amount remaining in the World. Thanks to a lot of people working hard to improve the genetics to save this breed, they are no longer on the Conservancy list! However, they are still a difficult breed to find and they can be a rather fragile breed to incubate and hatch. If you love beautiful unique birds or want to be a part of a dedicated group of OD breeders, you need these in your life! As a landrace breed, they do not have a SOP and colors/characteristics are varied and always a surprise—however they usually come in a colorful mottled pattern on a white base and the roosters are loved by everyone in the flock. They lead without aggression and the ladies all love them.

Currently my rooster is living with my egg laying chickens, as he prefers the space, so it requires a special breeding set up and disruption to the chickens in order to fill these orders and thus I only take special request hatches or hatching eggs, a minimum of one dozen eggs is required.

Please contact me for more information on purchasing OD hatching eggs. Thanks for your interest in this amazing breed!
