Quail chicks (4 chick minimum)

Quail are a low maintenance, easy to keep in urban and suburban neighborhoods, that are not considered livestock so they are most often not a regulated animal to own in county/city ordinances. They begin laying at 6-7 weeks old and reliably lay well into the fall, taking a break over the winter unless lights are provided. We let our quail rest over the winter, so we won’t have quail eggs or chicks for sale during the off season (mid-October through March). Quail roosters do crow, but it’s much less noticeable and generally not an issue for neighborhood sound ordinances. It’s best to have a 4:1 ratio of hens to roosters and like chickens, these quail do better in groups instead of as pairings or individual birds, therefore, unless we have discussed your situation, we have a 4-chick minimum. Our quail live in a above ground garden box and are a mix of several varieties, including Pansy Fees, Pansys, Italians, Pearls, Falb Fees, Rosettas, Tibetans, Silvers, Tuxedos, White, Grau Fees, and Celadons.

Price is set per chick. Please contact me if you have questions about purchase/availability. Quail do not start laying in earnest until March or April, so availability will not be until late April at the earliest. I do not hatch many quail unless I know it is desired, so feel free to contact me if you have a desired hatch of chicks you would like to purchase. Larger orders will receive a discount.
